Finance and Shipping: Milan Hosts the Debate on the Future of the Blue Economy

The Blue Capital Forum – Finance and Industry for the Future of the Blue Economy, the Milan stop of the “Road to BEST” roadshow, brought together key players from the maritime economy to foster a strategic dialogue among companies, investors and institutions.

At the heart of the discussion was the increasingly important role of the Blue Economy as a driver of national growth, along with the need to strengthen the dialogue between industry and finance. Particular attention was given to the evolution of shipping finance models, which are increasingly moving toward an integrated approach combining bank lending, private capital and institutional investors.

The forum also highlighted the importance of capital markets and innovative financial instruments to support sector growth, enhance ports and infrastructure, and drive the transition toward more sustainable and competitive models.
